This Privacy Policy explains how Ropod ("the App") handles your information. The App lets you turn text you write into spoken audio and provides AI-assisted writing help.

In short: the App does not collect personally identifying information such as your name, email, phone number, or location. No account or sign-in is required. The text you write and the audio you generate are stored on your device. Only while an audio job is running are some text and audio parts temporarily stored on our servers, and those job files are automatically deleted after about one day.

01Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect:

• Personally identifying information (name, email, phone number, address)
• Location or contacts
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA). Because the App does not track you, it does not show an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
• Any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs (none are included in the App)

Note: The App accesses your photo library (read-only) only when you choose a photo as a book cover. The chosen photo is copied only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers (see 02 below).

02Information the App Handles

Text (scripts and imported documents)

The text you write is stored on your device (in a local database). Only when you generate audio or use AI assistance is that text sent to the third-party APIs described below for processing. While an audio job is running, text chunks and in-progress audio parts are temporarily stored on our server (Cloudflare R2) so long jobs can resume and continue even if you close the app. These job files are automatically deleted after about one day. The finished audio is downloaded to your device, after which playback is local.

File import

You can import your own files. .txt and .md are processed on your device. .pdf, .docx, and .epub are sent to our server only to extract their text; the uploaded file itself is not retained after extraction.

Generated audio

Audio files created by the App are stored on your device. Playback works offline (the network is used only when generating).

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we register an Expo push token with our server, used only to tell you when your audio is ready. If you decline, all features still work (the app downloads your audio when you next open it).

Cover photos

If you choose a photo as a book cover, it is copied only on your device (read-only photo access). Cover photos are never uploaded to our servers.

Usage and purchase status

To provide the service and enforce usage limits, our server (a Cloudflare Worker) handles only:

• Usage counts (such as the number of characters synthesized — numbers only)
• A purchase-status flag (whether you have an active paid plan)

These are tied to an anonymous ID generated on your device and contain no personally identifying information. The records expire automatically after a limited period (up to 50 days). Your text, finished audio, and personal information are not stored on our servers on an ongoing basis.

03Data Sent to Third Parties

To provide its features, the App sends the necessary data to the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Third-party privacy policies: Google, Inworld, RevenueCat, Apple, Cloudflare, Expo

04Purchases and Payment

Paid plans are offered through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes payment, and RevenueCat manages subscription status. Neither the App nor we ever receive your payment details, such as credit card numbers.

05Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not collect personally identifying information from anyone.

06Deleting Your Data

Because text and generated audio are stored on your device, deleting (uninstalling) the App removes all of that data. Any job files temporarily stored on our server during an audio job are automatically deleted after about one day. Usage and purchase-status records on our server are tied to an anonymous ID and expire automatically after a limited period.

07Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as needed. We will post material changes on this page. If our server-side handling of information ever changes, we will update this policy in advance.
